I didn’t know about World Gin day until I was invited for gin tasting at Juniper Bar at Andaz Aerocity. It’s a bar that serves you different flavors of gin infused with various herbs, flowers, spices, and fruits – 40 varieties were offered for tasting! First is the name – Juniper is a berry that is used for the production of Gin. An Apt name – isn’t it?  Now the next thing; unlike other chic bars, this is a Homestyle bar. Simple, elegant, no fuss, high chair sitting where you can share with your mixologist your choice and enjoy your own concoction.

Apart from their own creation of Delhi Sapphire which has orange, cumin, coriander and vanilla, they have 39 homes infusions that are categorized in four segments – Citrus, Fruity-floral, spice, and herbs. They have around 11 signature cocktails (no classics, but their own creations.) and that makes them the finest bar and perhaps the only gin bar in the country. Well I like the idea of having own infusions instead of keeping stocks of hundreds of imported gin brands.

Food at Anamaya is excellent. Lamb chops, pork belly and the must paneer tikka (goat milk) were perfect additions. Besides their excellent appetizers, I liked dal makhni and butter chicken too. Dal Makhni has got a perfect consistency and the flavor of spices isn’t overpowering.
