The food scene in Gurgaon is changing very fast. It has changed over the last couple of years and now it has a couple of food hubs like sector 29, cyberhub and one horizon center. Every food hub has different clientele and caters to the various segment. Golf course road is coming up in a big way and is soon going to be one of the most happening places. One horizon center is currently the most happening place in Gurgaon. I was there on Friday night last week and most of the restaurants are packed. maneesh srivastva, lifestyle blogger and photographer, urbanescapades.in, nagai sector 29 gurgaon, boho bar, japanese cuisineSometime back, I was in Gurgaon and visited Nagai, the much talked about Japanese restaurant. The ambiance of Nagai has every element that makes it look like a fine dining Japanese restaurant. They recently launched their new bar, BOHO and the trust me it is going to be the talk of the town soon, as they blend amazing cocktails. For someone like me who loves Japanese food, I must say, I found a great place in Gurgaon, as else in Delhi, it will always be Guppy. The food here is very much Japanese and they have not made any layers/changes around with the taste. Gurgaon has other Japanese places too and I am very keen to explore them. You might hear from us very soon about these places.

maneesh srivastva, lifestyle blogger and photographer, urbanescapades.in, cafe staywoke, golf course road gurgaon, south poin mallI met two young IMT graduates Abhinav and Manali at their newly opened café at South Point Mall. Café Staywoke is the brainchild of the people.  The place, just like them is young, vibrant, colorful and bright. It has quirky interiors with very interesting food. Their beetroot and corn soup are absolute winners along with their smoothies and zattar chicken. They also have an expert hand of my friend Tarun Sibal whose tasting profiles are magical. Do visit this quirky café when you are in Golf course area. They will need to ensure consistency and continue to keep a watch on their kitchen, as that will enable them to survive any competition.

I also have an interesting fact about these restaurants. Both are first timers and have never been in hospitality before. When I asked Manali why she wanted to get into the food business, she said she loves eating out and have kept the dishes, that they enjoy Partner of Nagai is a pilot and has been eating Japanese food for very long. He always wanted to open fine-dine Japanese restaurant.

As they are new to this industry, they will need to ensure consistency to stay on par and I wish them continued success in their individual ventures.
