My first experience with Oko, the pan Asian restaurant of The Lalit group was at The Lalit Chandigarh, more than two years ago.

If Baluchi, their signature pan Indian restaurant has Naan’ry, their unique Indian bread paired with wine, then Oko has Sushiri, a first of it’s kind of pairing where sashimi is paired with wine and sake.

What is so unique?

The only restaurant in Delhi spread over the entire floor, with unique PDR and private dining areas. You get a good view of Delhi from the restaurant.

Their food is Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese and a very extensive list of wine and spirits. Ravindra Singh, the corporate head, F&B and Charles, the corporate sommelier have worked for more than 6 months to get the menu.

You can expect some excellent wine. My favorite wine of the day was Chateau Lamothe 2016. Both the red and white were an excellent wine. I also liked their in-house champagne.

They also have teppanyaki and yakitori in their menu. Lamb chops and chicken wings were good. The fish was brilliant and had the perfect tanginess. The pork, which I ate with noodles – both were exceptionally good.

Verdict

Oko is definitely a welcome addition for the city in pan Asian cuisine. The most popular international cuisine in India where Japanese and Chinese are must try. I like their Vietnamese dishes as well, wish they could have added some more Vietnamese dishes in their menu.

They also have brought back their classic dishes from Nobel House and they are exceptionally good. Their wine and sake list is impressive and so is their cocktails. Their spirit list to is impressive. I found their wine prices to be competitive.
