Now onwards every week I am going to compile my weekly visit to restaurants/hotels and share them on my blog.

Mediterranean affair at Sevilla

Sevilla is not only known for its great Mediterranean food but is also known as one of the most romantic restaurants in Delhi. The entire restaurant is done up so beautifully that it enhances your dining experience.

They have two young and energetic chefs from the Balearic Islands of Spain and together they have created a fantastic menu which has the influence of France, Italy, and Spain.

Prawn brioche was excellent to start with and lamb bonbon was excellent preparation. Poached meatball with bitter orange and sunny side up egg were exceptional, soft, tender and juicy.   Compressed eggplant took us by surprise – soaked in honey, it tasted like a peach. Delicious!

Chilean baes was delicately panned seared and served with pink pepper sauce. The mushroom risotto was cooked in almond milk, a great dish for vegan

A perfect evening in the company of excellent chefs and friends in a very classy restaurant.  Promotion is on till 15th  and shouldn’t be missed.

ITC has always been known for its expertise in Indian cuisine. Last night we went to WelcomDwarka to try their ongoing Maharashtrian food festival. They have MasterChef Sahebrao Bhamble from Aurangabad who along with their Executive Chef Naresh Dubey ( who has also worked in Maharashtra for almost 4 years) have curated a fantastic Maharashtrian menu.

Yehswari mutton was different in flavor and tasted good. Kolhapuri chicken has the hotness, the way they generally eat it. Chana Dal amti was cooked with coconut and tamarind and tastes great if you eat with Puran Poli. Puran Poli was absolutely delicious and I have eaten a lot when I was in Mumbai.

If you are looking for very different but delicious food, then head to WelcomHotel Dwarka. The festival is on till 7th and you will love it without a doubt.

A BBQ pop-up with a very clear mandate –  opened with minimal expenses and provides a great experience. The seating arrangement is made of diesel drums including tables. Recycling of materials is what you will find here. Even the cutlery box was a colored old Dabba

Chef Rick has done a fantastic job by mixing Indian bbq and international grill techniques. KFC style fried chicken was crisp as they used papad instead of breadcrumbs which made it crisp. BBQ prawns and spicy chicken wings were excellent. That’s not all –  they have got some great dishes for vegetarians as well. Tandoori aloo was my favoriteIt’s a nice place to unwind yourself with a couple of drinks and some snacks.

Opens every day except Monday from 7-11 PM. Weather is perfect for this kind of setting.

An evening with Sushi and Sake at the Embassy of Japan

Last night we were invited by the Ambassador of Japan at his residence to experience the food and spirit of Japan.   Japanese goodwill Ambassador Chef Ogawa Hirotoshi gave us an overview of Japanese cuisine and then made himself sushi using imported fish from Japan. I was very impressed with the speed at which he made the sushi. I guess, most of us loved the tuna, it was delicious. We also got a chance to try food from “Coco Ichibanya” and “Pepper Lunch” – the two Japanese restaurants that were especially part of the event. Indian Masterchef Pankaj Bhadouria also did a masterclass and showed a dish prepared with  Japanese apple.

It was a fine evening where we got the chance to interact with the Japanese chef and our  F&B fraternity.
