Lotus Resort Goa Goa is one state where most tourists (including me) love to visit again and again. I love the vibe of Goa- it is cool, relaxed, rejuvenating and inviting. It is this same vibe that echoes within the classy Lotus Resort Goa. I chose this resort for two reasons. Firstly since it is part of Kamat Hotels (India) Limited you are assured of good quality service and hospitality and secondly for its awesome location. Lotus Resort Goa Lotus Resort Goa is situated a mere 200 metres from Benaulim Beach and is 6 kms from Madgaon railway station. It is 25 kms from Dabolim Airport.

I definitely recommend an early morning stroll on Benaulim Beach to experience its waves, sand, walkers, joggers, yoga practitioners and also to see how the fishermen haul in the catch of the day and segregate it. Morning is also when this gorgeously clean beach is relatively quiet. After 10 am the beach is abuzz with water sports including banana rides, parasailing and dolphin viewing trips. There are beach shacks just like on the other beaches of Goa but here there are lesser crowds and hence you can enjoy more. I also liked that since Lotus Resort Goa is located in a quiet neighbourhood you are not disturbed and you can chill within the resort also.

Parvez A. Sayed, General Manager, Lotus Resort Goa adds, “Accommodation options of our 16 year old resort are divided into three categories- Deluxe, Super Deluxe and Suites. We have 16 Deluxe rooms, 16 Super Deluxe rooms and 16 Suites. All required amenities like A/C, 24/7 hot and cold water, laundry service, morning newspaper, toiletries, TV with multi channels and tea/coffee makers in all the rooms are provided.” The Suites are more like a service apartment and include a bedroom, living room with sofa cum bed and kitchen. Their tastefully done up and spacious interiors make them much sought after by families or groups of friends who are looking for a long holiday to unwind.

Food is a big plus point of Lotus Resort Goa whether it is in room dining or dining at Sea Wave or Sea Horse restaurants. Both offer yummy Chinese, Indian and Goan cuisine. Savour Goan fish curry, Goan chicken cafreal, prawns vindaloo, kingfish masala fry or pomfret rava fry. In Chinese the chicken noodles, prawns Szechwan fried rice, chilly chicken and prawns fried rice are tasty. In Indian relish chicken makhani. If you are in the mood for a drink, then Sea Shell is a well stocked bar. Did you know that alcohol in Goa is extremely reasonably priced in comparison to other states? Some of Sea Shell’s delightful cocktails include Lotus Special which is palm fenny with pineapple and coconut cream, Pina Colada and Go Go Goa which is made with cashew fenny, pineapple juice and cream.

The clean outdoor swimming pool with an attached baby pool, wi-fi and indoor activities of table tennis, carom and chess are other facilities that can be availed at Lotus Resort Goa. Bikes and cars on rent are available. Sightseeing is also arranged on request for both North and South Goa. Visiting Shri Mangeshi and Shantadurga Temples in Ponda, the World Heritage Sites of The Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se’ Cathedral, Chapel of St. Cajetan, Church and Convent of St. Francis of Assisi, the Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception in Panjim, Dona Paula, Latin Quarters, Big Foot, Colva, Baga and Calangute beaches, Fort Aguada and a spice plantation should not be missed. On Saturday head to the visually appealing Arpora night market. Don’t forget to buy delicious local specialties’ of coconut, cornflakes and peanut biscuits, plum cakes, beef and pork snacks from a local bakery.
