Background
Indian Accent doesn’t need any introduction. It is the finest Indian restaurant in the world led by the finest chef Manish Mehrotra. After a sensational opening in NYC, he has now opened the third Indian Accent in London on December 14th.
What’s New!
Well, they moved from their location at “The Manor “at Defence Colony to The Lodi which is now easily accessible. Though I used to love that location as there was coziness of that place, however, I now love their new location too. I believe, more than the location, what matters is the team, people, service, and food, which is clearly beyond any comparison. It has replaced OTW which in my opinion was one of the most romantic restaurants in the country.
Another thing that I secretly enjoyed in the old location was that the place maintained the low profile, even though “INDIAN ACCENT” – the name in itself draws customers. The old location always had people buzzing and the newer Indian Accent is always full, even for a Monday lunch when I went there for lunch with my wife.
Service
Exceptional service and unmatchable experience in food and quality are what I was privileged to be a part of at Indian Accent. This restaurant truly deserves to get Michelin stars. Their impeccable service outshines each time. Right from serving the dishes to pouring wine and changing cutlery after each serving is not just flawless but has a touch of a very personalized service! How many times have you witnessed anyone coming to your table and ensuring that everything is perfect – well not just for formality – but with genuineness to ensure that guests truly get to experience the remarkable hospitality and elegant food!?
Well, this is what Palki Singh ensures when she welcomes guests and they are seated. She is always on her toes with an ever smiling face and with utmost professionalism and warmth. She doesn’t miss to engage with any of the guests. I would definitely want to go back and enjoy my conversations with Chefs and offcource the lovely food served with perfection!
Food
Food at Indian Accent always been excellent and consistent. The best part about the degustation menu is that you crave for more. The Achari pork ribs have always been the best and my favorite at Indian Accent and we couldn’t say no when Palki asked us for the second helping. While I personally feel that pairing wine with Indian cuisine isn’t easy but at IA it will make you feel that the meal and the pairing couldn’t have been better than anything else. The way food gets cooked, it retains the flavor and that’s why it’s easy to pair wine with this food. Now, they have improved their list of wines and have added some of the finest wines from across the world. Chunky tamarind crab on beans foogath and coconut curry were outstanding.
One of the best crab meat I have had in a long time. Each portion gets served in style right from the mini golgappa shots to the finest desserts! The taste is authentic and you will at the end of the meal feeling satisfied and realize that you have relished each bite!
Verdict
Well, after writing all this do I need to say more? The only thing I can say is that if you haven’t had food at India Accent, you will not know what have you missed in life! It’s not only the best in India but the best Indian restaurant in the world.
