It’s very rare that I eat only vegetarian food, though I love vegetables but I need my meat as well. Because of Shraadh, I prefer being on a vegetarian diet for almost 2 weeks. During this period, I visited different places and tried some good vegetarian dishes and would strongly suggest that for every vegetarian, these places are a must-visit!

chef gautam mehrishi, vivanta dwarka, taj dwarkaLast week I was at Vivanta for an informal lunch and Chef Gautam was kind enough to serve some very interesting or I would say twisted vegetarian dishes including pizza. All of them were excellent! And the best thing was that these were so fulfilling that I didn’t crave for non-vegetarian.

Australian High Commission, chef sebastian, the oberoi new delhiI was also invited for dinner at The Oberoi where Australian High Commission in collaboration with The Oberoi New Delhi hosted a wine dinner and the famous Australian Chef Sebastian cooked 7-course wine paired dinner. I was a little skeptical but the texture of cauliflower with truffle oil was delicious and the risotto was outstanding. The best part about the dinner was apart from the excellent food served, the selection of wines too was exceptional! 2013, pinot noir, pavilion by chinkara were the best wine for me.

I have always shared that Chef Ashwini is the best Indian chef in the city.

dilli 32, chef ashwini kumar singh

Dilli 32 always remains special for me and this time Chef Ashwini cooked some brilliant vegetarian dishes for me. Green gram shami kebab had the perfect texture and it dI realized that vegetarian Shami kebab can be equally good too. The bharwan baingan, bhindi pyaz and lehsuni palak with Muradabad dal were outstanding too! I have always shared that Chef Ashwini is the best Indian chef in the city. His cooking, his flavors are always bang on and can never disappoint anyone. My wife too is a fan of his cooking! Thanks, Devashree for the lovely lunch. I will come back soon for a full meal.

And BTW Dilli 32 is now open for lunch as well with the set menu. This is a must-try!

Marvels of Culinaire, Westin Gurgaon

I always say Brunches are best enjoyed with friends and family. Last week I went to Westin Gurgaon for their first Sunday brunch where the theme was Marvels of Culinaire. 6 MasterChef’s displayed their best Culinary affairs. In addition, trust me it was not only lavish but the food was excellent too. I was vegetarian that Sunday, but I truly enjoyed my food.

Apart from the excellent spread, there was an art section too, to engage kids. We enjoyed the live music that added more zeal to the Sunday brunch. Their south Indian section needs special mention. Taking care of their vegetarian guests is very important and they did it pretty well. Even the salad and antipasti section had great vegetarian spread.

The lamb musslalam looed divine and I had not seen anything like this before! Even the pan Asian section had a great spread. My son loves sushi and he enjoyed it a lot along with the salmon preparation at the Italian live section. Well, you should plan your Sunday with Westin Gurgaon and enjoy a lavish meal with friends and family!
