When I came to know that India’s first organic, vegan and cruelty-free spalon called Orrganic Elemennt was located in my city of Pune, I was happy as well as curious. Being a person who follows an organic lifestyle, I eat and wear organic but this was the first time I would experience an organic spalon. It being vegan and cruelty-free was a bonus.

I pre-booked my appointment and as I sat at Orrganic Elemennt while my spa room was being prepared, I noticed that the décor was made of eco-friendly materials like jute, cane, bamboo, and ropes. Guests are not served drinking water in plastic bottles but in copper glasses. As I walked to my treatment room, I passed the manicure and pedicure enclosure and going with the eco-friendly concept, copper vessels are used for doing pedicures instead of plastic foot bath massagers and tubs.

I chose the unique stone crop facial. Stonecrop helps to rejuvenate, firm, tone and smooth the skin. It is also known for its anti-aging benefits. The pure aroma of the various ingredients used for my Stone crop facial relaxed me as I enjoyed cleansing, exfoliating, toning, and moisturizing. A facial is a good way to get pampered and enjoy much needed me time while the blood circulation of the face improves, dead skin is removed and you feel revitalized.

The blueberry and soya cleanser of the facial hydrated while the rosehip with maize and almond exfoliator helped to cleanse my pores, remove impurities and provide vitamin C. It also helped with skin clarity. The toner contained chamomile which soothed my skin, and the stonecrop moisturizer made my skin radiant and youthful.

None of the products used in the spalon are tested on animals, they are all cruelty-free and organic. It was such a delightful experience to wrap myself with the goodness of Mother Nature instead of harmful chemicals and toxic preservatives.

Happy with my facial, I decided to experience the soothing sugar body polish which contained sandalwood, cane sugar, cold pressed oils of sesame, rice bran, almond, and olive. A mineral mud masque completed the treatment. I saw a visible reduction in my suntan. My skin also felt soft and supple.

Staying true to the chemical-free concept, even the hair color used is organic. It is ammonia free as well as paraben free. It doesn’t contain any sulfates whatsoever. This is good because many of us have been using chemical induced hair color and would like to continue using color, and we can do so with a safer option. The facials, organic body polishes and spa therapies are done using organic cold pressed olive oil and coconut oil. The other products used are of international and Indian brands which are organic and PETA certified. Even the wax that is used for waxing is not beeswax, it is a pine tree sap wax which is excellent for the skin.

Kavita Pol, Founder, Orrganic Elemennt

As I am about to leave, Kaveeta Pol, Founder, Orrganic Element meets me and I ask her what prompted her to start India’s first organic, vegan and cruelty-free spalon. Smiling, she replied, “I have been in the beauty industry for a decade and am a vegetarian and an animal lover. I was so affected seeing the videos that gruesomely tortured animals for extracting hair color, that I decided to do something about it in the form of Orrganic Elemennt. Also as we know, in the long run, chemicals not only damage the skin and hair but also lead to many diseases including cancer. The spalon is my way of letting people know that they can look and feel amazing without ruining Mother Nature and hurt animals.” Well, I certainly felt beautiful after being pampered with an organic, vegan and cruelty-free way.
