A gorgeous fusion of Thai and Balinese architecture coupled with warm Indian hospitality is what greets you at the luxurious Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Karjat. No surprise then as to why this property was the recipient of the Best Architecture Award.

Set against the scenic backdrop of the Ulhas River and Sahyadri hills along with its close proximity to Mumbai and Pune makes it an ideal weekend getaway, especially for families looking to unwind from the hustle and bustle of cities.

There is no better way to beat the scorching heat than a relaxing dip in this pool or just lounging on the sun decks while watching the kids frolic in the water. Having worked up an appetite post swimming, we headed straight to Palms, the all-day dining restaurant which features a medley of Indian as well as international cuisine.

I craved some me time and the Kids zone was perfect as it kept the little ones engrossed for hours. There was a cute selection of stuffed toys, indoor games, and books.

I recommend the signature chocolate therapy that includes a chocolate massage, scrub, and wrap. Evenings are ideal for sipping a delectable cocktail at Blu Lounge, the elegant bar at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Karjat. Post dinner a stroll under the clear skies felt absolutely magical.

These beautiful Buddhist caves are nestled in the midst of a lush green forest. The tranquility I experienced while making my way to the caves was phenomenal.

As a novice trekker who was accompanied by my kids, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment on reaching the staircase leading up to these rock-cut caves that were discovered in the 1st Century B.C. Take a moment to absorb the oneness you feel with nature at these caves before heading back to the resort for high tea where yummy cake, cookies and crunchy pakoras with tea, coffee, and hot chocolate await.
