An entire city meant just for kids. The whole idea itself sounds mind boggling. I don’t know who was more curious- me or my kids. With great gusto we reached the entrance of KidZania, Mumbai which resembles an airport check in complete with individual counters and boarding passes being issued. To get you even more charged up, each entrant gets an RFID security bracelet which is used for scanning before every activity. My 3 year old was thrilled to sport it.

I felt as though I was standing in some foreign country with cobbled pathways with café style chairs and benches. There is an entire range of activities to choose from be it automobiles to industrial, public or private sector. Just like in the real world, kids get to experience firsthand how things are manufactured or how they work, they pay for certain services and are accountable for their money.kidzania, urbanescapades.in, khursheed dinshaw travel and lifestyle writer

Once they run out of the currency known as Kidzos they need to do errands to earn money. Real cute activities like being a Dabbawalla and having to deliver dabbas or DHL courier delivery. Nothing beats the aww factor and maximum photo opportunities when your kid is all dressed up in a  hair net, jacket and donning a hard hat. The icing on the cake is when the kids engage in preparing stuff like the Parle- G biscuits or Chocos and once all the steps are complete with the press of the final button an actual sample of the product pops out.

My kids loved the fire station and why not when they got to ride in a fire engine and even douse out a burning building with hoses. A big thumbs up to KidZania which educates kids about real life professions and their responsibilities in a fun way making edutainment a sure shot winner.
