My Maiden Thailand Trip - Part II | Rayong, Chanthaburi and More

Journey Continues…..

In my last post, I had shared my experience about Bangkok and places around it. Our Next destination was Rayong, a small town in the coastal area close to Pattaya, which was our final destination.

On the Way to Rayong

For the next two days, we were on roads, crossing smaller towns of Thailand with a lot of greenery and fun on the bus. We stayed at Marriott Resort Rayong at night, before moving to Pattaya. It is a beautiful sea facing resort.

Tip – Seven Eleven is the supermarket of Thailand, where you get anything and everything, and it’s everywhere. Also in every city/province, there are ample places to eat, so you need not worry. However, finding food for vegetarians can be tough at times.

Suan Lamai Rayong – Kingdom of Fruit

As we all know that Thailand is known for its exotic fruits. Our next stop was at the kingdom of fruit in the mountains. This garden is surrounded by mountains and natural forest. This place is for people who love nature and fruits. Here you will get chance to see fruits like durian, mango, orange, papaya, mangosteen, starfruit, and dragon. You can not only pick fruits from the garden but also enjoy fruit brunch. You will fall in love with the landscape

Old Town Chanthaboon Waterfront

This old quint place has the influence of France and China and shares border with Vietnam. This place is for unwinding yourself. It’s just 4 hours drive from Bangkok. You can enjoy local delicacies and food from China and Vietnam. This place also has some amazing French café. A must visit place if you are in this part of Thailand.

Chanthorn Restaurant

This small food hall cum restaurant is a great example of farm to table concept. Also, they serve farm fresh vegetables. The food here is fresh and delicious. Since we had a large group, we had the advantage of eating a lot of stuff. You will enjoy local food and excellent service.

Marriott Rayong

This hotel has the most stunning view. From your room’s balcony, you can see the sea and three huge swimming pools. Perhaps the most stunning property in Thailand. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Unfortunately, we stayed here for just one night. We were told that this property has become the favorite wedding destination for Indians. As per the Marriot standards, this hotel has lavish breakfast spread. This place serves amazing Indian food too as they have a lot of Indian visitors. It is purely a luxury escape and you can spend days here, enjoying a beach vacation and other amazing services that this hotel provides.

Next day we started our journey to Pattaya after the scrumptious breakfast at Salt Café at Marriott Rayong.

Krung Krung Museum

This was the most entertaining part of my Rayong Visit. The old and heritage stuff has always fascinated me. Mr. Kang has been collecting old stuff from last 6o odd years. His old heritage museum is full of vintage stuff. One of his room is filled with cameras. From SLR to film camera to digital camera to manual camera, I mean you think of any camera and it’s there. It was fascinating to see that how some people follow their passion to the core. This place is a nice visit when you are in Rayong. It’s on the way to Pattaya and anyone will guide you to this place.
