Delhi’s 10 Best Restaurants 2020

When I started Delhi’s 10 Best restaurant list, which came out in 2017 for the first time, I was under tremendous stress as selecting 10 best out of the many restaurants isn’t an easy task. It took us months to come up with names. After a lot of logical arguments and discussions, we finally decided to stick with 10 names. Even this year, while we were finalizing the names, I was asked to add some more numbers to make it 20, but I chose to stick to the list.

This would be the 4^th year of the list. The usual date is march but this year I pushed it further as I wasn’t able to finish the list. Some of the restaurants from last year did very poor and were out from the list and some didn’t maintain their consistency and some of the promising names didn’t manage to make it to the final 10. So I pushed the list further and then the pandemic hit us.

But I think it is time when I should go ahead and share the list because it’s the time when we can come forward and show our love for F&B fraternity. Every industry and people have been affected by this pandemic and people’s priority have changed as well. This list is based on last year experience and a bit of this year too. Our next year list will be published by mid-2021.

While the whole world is following Michelin star guide and going mad about it, unfortunately in India we do not have any authoritative list of restaurants for each city. Well, what we did not realize was that our efforts towards this initiative will go viral and will cross 1 lac views. We are not only excited but also thrilled that people were able to relate to the list and were eager to know, what we at Urban Escapades consider to be the BEST!  This humbles us further as we start our year again to create the next best! So here, we are back again with the 10 best restaurants of 2020. Our selection process remains the same:

It’s a human tendency that whatever you do or create, you will always find critics for it. I would be glad to have a discussion around this anytime.

So here is it, the fourth edition of 10 Best Restaurants in Delhi – purely based on our research, food reviews and discussions with our experts. You may or may not agree but we would love to see your comments.

Delhi’s 10 Best Restaurants 2020

1. Indian Accent - No price for guessing, it’s not only India’s best , but perhaps one of the finest Indian restaurant in the world.

2. Olive Bar and Kitchen - Olive and Chef Dhruv are synonyms to each other. Over the years, Chef Dhruv has not only proven his skills, but has also transformed Olive. Chef Dhruv is taking olive to new heights. The flavour, food and presentation is sensational! Their seasonal menu has colours according to the season. They use local produce and the freshness is impossible to get anywhere else.

3. Sorrento - Simple, bold and flavorful with great presentation. Sorrento is definitely is one of the finest Italian fine-dine in the city. If you love Italian and looking forward to eating beyond pizzas, Sorrento is a must try.

4. The China Kitchen - Chinese has only one name in Delhi i.e. china kitchen. They are serving the most authentic Chinese in town over the last 2 decades. Their pecking duck is a must have.

5. Guppy - When it comes to Japanese food in Delhi, no one can do better than Chef Vikram Khatri. His signature pork belly, black cod and sushi are outstanding and continue to remain so!

6. Diva - The Italian Restaurant – it opened in delhi ahead of it’s time and it’s still going strong. Chef Ritu Dalmia has managed not only to serve consistent and delicious Italian food over the years but this place also has one of the finest wine list in the city. I have also loved the warmth that Chef Ritu spreads and this place too is cozy, warm and welcomes you with open arm and smile.

7. Made In India - Made in India at Radisson MBD Noida has always been an exception. Every kebab that I had, was different in terms of texture, flavor and spices. I must admit that Made in India is definitely one of the finest Indian restaurants we have in Delhi/NCR and trust me you will never be disappointed by the food served here. Chef Khursheed is exceptional and his kebabs are outstanding. Don’t forget to try the ishtew, you will love it.

8. Dakshin - This restaurant has been in delhi for quite sometime. I have been eating at this place for very long. When I went there last month I realised that they are serving the same quality authentic food without compromising the flavour and taste and that’s makes them one of the finest restaurant in delhi.If you love south Indian food, specially non-veg , it’s the place where you should go..

9. Comorin - It’s a trendsetter in Delhi. Not only they changed the café food scenario in delhi but they also managed to serve some amazing twisted cocktails. Mixologgist Varun has some amazing concoction and their sous vide cocktails are amazing. Every dish here is a winner but their green chilli prawns, bheja fry and malai cheeni toast are not to be missed.

10. Together at 12 - Delhi’s First freestyle restaurant, where the dishes are based on seasonal and local produce and Chef Vanshika Bhatia makes sure that your food is fresh and well presented. While Vanshika looks after Kitchen, Nitin Tewari, the finest mixologist of the country takes charge of the Cocktails. Under his guidance, the team makes one of the finest concoction and their menu also depends upon the season. They do some exceptional collaborations with Chefs and bartenders across the globe and tie-up with Indian Chefs too.
